ACCH Serve Day 2023

We are partnering with churches across the world bringing opportunities to serve their local communities and share the love of God through practical acts of kindness.

There are several new Serve Day Teams going out to serve our community this year, so be sure to read all of these options and select the "ticket" for the group you will be joining. Many groups have a participation limit and are first come, first serve. It is important to sign up ASAP to guarantee your preferred spot.

1) Serve Day for Kids or Childcare for smaller children - A place for children to have the opportunity to serve in a safe environment. Also, a place for parents to leave their smaller children while they serve. There will be crafts and fun events planned.

Also, if you love children and would like to serve with this team, you will sign up under this option as well. We need everything from lvoing on the babies to helping the team teach our younger generation how to be the hands and feet of Jesus during their serve day projects.

2) Island Home Rehabilitation Center - This Team will spend time with and show love to the elderly community. They will paint ladies nails, play outdoor yard games and indoor card games.

3) Carter Elementary School - This group is still in the planning process; however, this serve project promises to beautify the environment in an effort to make the school a fun place to learn.

4) Young Williams Animal Center - This team will assist in toy prep, cleaning, dishes, laundry, and anything else the facility could possibly need. And of course, there will be plenty of time to love on the animals.

5) Serving Those Who Serve - This group will meet at the church and will be in charge of preparing an environment of celebration for those who are out serving to come back for refreshment and fellowship. This team will be providing the “after-party” by setting up the tables and chairs and celebrating the wins of the day. The meal will be catered in, so light set up will be required, and clean-up afterward. Lastly, this team will also help pack Teacher Appreciation Boxes.

6) Teacher Boxes - This team will fill "Something Extra" boxes with the supplies donated. Each box will be prayed over and assembled with care by this team.

7) Sunnyview Elementary - This team will be painting the newly paved, outdoor playground area with special paint and stencils.

8) Johnson University (ages 16+) - Trail building. The school is creating hiking trails over 8 miles that will be made accessible to the students and the public. No one under the age of 16. Manual labor is involved.

9) South Doyle High School - This group is still in the planning process; however, this serve project promises to beautify the environment in an effort to make the school a fun place to learn.

10) KARM - Feeding the Homeless - This team will deliver mid-morning food to the homeless inside the KARM homeless shelter in downtown Knoxville. They will provide not only food but fellowship as well. Donated books will be handed out too.

11) Disabled Vet - Yard Work - This team will assist a disabled veteran and family with lawn care and general yard cleanup.

11b) Second Harvest Food Bank - Ages 10 up. This is a great family event. This team will volunteer in the warehouse and food distribution areas of SHFB . You will sort through donated food and designate it to specific programs they offer. Light warehouse cleaning may also added.

12) KARM Store - This team will volunteer inside a KARM retail store sorting through donated items and placing them in the store as needed.

13) Brunch Bunch - Delivering lunch, flowers and balloons to ACCH members that are homebound due to illness/injury and are unable to attend on a regular basis at the moment.

14) Undecided/Floater (Place me where needed) - Too many choices or just don't care where you serve? After all the numbers are in we will place you on the team with the most need for volunteers.

15) Photography Team - PRE-ASSIGNED ONLY! If you a part of the Serve Day photography team as requested per the ACCH media team, sign up for this option to ensure we have lunch and a shirt provided for you.
